Oct 29, 2018
Earl Oliver Hurst was born in 1898 in New York. Despite some difficulties, he had an exceptionally successful career. His amazing artwork earned him a place in the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.
His work is characterized by a sense of aliveness created by fluid brush strokes. It also shows a clear awareness of FORCE.
Observe the C-curve of the foreground figure’s torso (A) in contrast to the S-curve of the two figures in the midground (B & C).
